Painting and You — START

Absolutely everyone. No talent? No problem. Never drawn or painted before? Even better.

This course is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of freehand drawing and painting techniques. Step by step, you’ll begin to notice whether you have artistic abilities — maybe even hidden talent you didn’t know you had. But even if you don’t, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of classical painting, which will enrich your experience when visiting galleries or exploring art on your own.

Although the course is open to all adults, it’s especially beneficial for those over 35. For younger participants, it’s a smart investment — learning the basics early can pay off later in life. Painting can become a powerful tool for maintaining memory and spatial awareness. It’s like a creative seismograph, helping you notice subtle changes in how you think and perceive.

🏛️A course with history:

Painting and You – START is an expanded version of the original course I ran in my Kraków studio between 2010 and 2012. Now, it’s available online — accessible, flexible, and ready when you are.

A bright art studio featuring two easels with blank canvases facing a window, a small table with art supplies, and a chandelier overhead.
A collage of art supplies including drawing tools and pastels, along with an image of easels set up in a well-lit studio space.
A still life composition featuring a white vase with pink flowers, a decorative plate with artificial blooms, and a yellow jug, set against a backdrop of layered fabrics in shades of pink and gray.
  1. Foundational exercises in painting and freehand drawing.
  2. Guidance on how to nurture your creative skills — maybe even a hidden talent.
  3. Simple strategies to avoid falling into superficial artistic habits.
  4. Encouragement to explore art supply stores and embrace imperfection.
  5. Insight into how this course can benefit you — even if you never become an artist, but love art.

Instead, you’ll learn how to use your imagination safely and effectively in your creative process.
